First Look at Charlie Cox as Netflixs Daredevil Rosario Dawson to Play Claire Temple New York Comic Con News: In conjunction with the NYCC, Netflix released the first two photos of actor Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock and as his alter ego Daredevil. Daredevil will be the first Netflix Marvel series with thirteen hour-long episodes. Also revealed at the NYCC is the fact that Rosario Dawson will join the cast of the Daredevil series as Claire Temple. Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock Marvel fans will recognize Claire Temple as the name of Luke Cage’s ex-girlfriend, but then Marvel’s Ryan Penagos tweeted that Dawson would be playing a Nurse who works at Night, which would appear to be a direct reference to Night Nurse, a key character from the Brian Michael Bendis and Alex Maleev Daredevil run, who appeared in Daredevil Vol. 2 #58 in 2004, and who is known for her penchant for caring for injured superheroes. Now the alter ego of Night Nurse in the Marvel Universe is Linda Carter, a name that the folks at Marvel (or Netflix) might have thought would create confusion with the statuesque star of the 1970s Wonder Woman TV series. Of course it would be silly to rule out a connection to the Luke Cage Netflix series, since Cage will be the subject of one of the five Netflix Marvel series along with Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and the Defenders, which will feature all of the Netflix Marvel heroes
