First Officer TinaPop to VSC. I’ve had a number of enquiries - TopicsExpress

First Officer TinaPop to VSC. I’ve had a number of enquiries about Regional Officers. I’ve also had a number of questions asking how members can interact with others at their local level. I see these questions as two sides of the same coin. The only person who can nominate any-one for special officer status is our Captain Voltaire himself. So how do you qualify for consideration? Right back when the VSC was started Captain Voltaire made it clear. “Don’t tell me why you should be an officer. Show me!” He needs to see the effort you are putting in to make the VSC a success. This is why it is imperative that you post your successes to our time line. Success & effort inspire effort & success. Who would not want to be part of that? A new part of the remit of the Regional Officers will be to create and administer (along with the First Officer) VSC Regional Branch Facebook Groups. I will be working with existing Regional Officers over the next few weeks to get these established, with a view to establishing more as Regional Officers come on line. We hope that these groups will enable all VSC Members to communicate effectively & easily with others in there area. We encourage you to arrange local meet ups through these groups, organise local outings & events and to discuss ideas for promotion specific to your area. These groups will come in to their own on those wonderful occasions when Voltaire is playing in the given region. We encourage you to talk about other local groups you may be able to spread the word to. Is there a local Steampunk group you’re involved with? Is there a local Goth page? Gamer page? Trekki page? Is there street press or gig guides you could have the show listed in, or reviewed in. Is there a local radio station? Or a student radio station in your area that might plug the show? The Regional Officers will be responsible for rallying their troops, leading the charge to inject some energy & buzz around these ideas. But they cannot do it alone. An Officer (or a Captain for that matter) is nothing without the support of the troops. Regional Officers will regularly report back to me on the people who are helping them the most. Members of these groups will need to be VSC Members of the main page first & foremost. We don’t want any-one missing any of our Captain’s Official Posts. But these Regional Branch groups will also provide you with an interactive avenue to discuss all things VSC local. A couple of these pages already exist. There is an Australian one which I am looking after along with newly promoted Regional Data Officer Amy Mokuba Jacobs. Congratulations Amy on your promotion! Southern Texas also has a Regional Branch group under the guiding hand of Demitri DAvolo. The spotlight of course is going to fall strongly on this Regional Branch. Voltaire is about to play a gig in Dallas. Texan members of the VSC I strongly suggest you join Regional Officer Demitri and start sharing, sending, retweeting & reposting this link (which also appears on the Regional Branch Group). Let’s see if we can sell this show out & prove to our Captain that we’ve got his back!! thechurchdallas/The_Church_Event.php?eventid=2192 So Good Luck every-one. I hope to hear from our Captain that we have more Regional Officers on line & I look forward to working with you all to make sure we make the VSC the most successful Street Team since the KiSS Army!! First Officer TinaPop – Out.
