First Publish: 12/7/2014, 4:51 PM Eight teenagers from the northern Israeli town of Fureidis were recently arrested on suspicion of involvement in manufacturing pipe bombs and throwing a pipe bomb at a police car, it was cleared for publication Sunday, during violent Arab rioting on November 9. The eight were arrested as part of a joint operation of the Israel Security Agency (ISA or Shin Bet) and the Israel Police Coastal District. Four of the arrested have been interrogated by the ISA and four by the ISA. Investigation revealed that three of the minors conspired to harm police officers that night and threw two of them at police officers for nationalistic reasons (i.e. terrorism) near Route 4, which is close to Fureidis. The three teenagers will thereby be prosecuted in the Haifa Juvenile District Court on charges of conspiracy to commit a crime, and carrying and creating a deadly weapon. Three other teenagers arrested had conspired to throw explosive charges at police officers; one had procured them and given more explosives to two others in the group, who detonated them. The three will also be tried in the Haifa Juvenile District Court on charges of conspiracy to harm police officers, and carrying and creating a deadly weapon. The ISA stressed that terror incidents during demonstrations which include violent and illegal activity would be dealt with severely by the ISA and Israel Police. All of the incidents stemmed from a wave of violent Arab rioting which flooded through northern Israel days after the Israel police shot and killed terrorist Hir Alhamdan, a resident of Kafr Kana in the Galilee who reportedly lunged at a police car in an attack pose and repeatedly made stabbing motions toward the cars window.
