First Redlands Bicycle Classic, 2nd NRC race, and an incredible - TopicsExpress

First Redlands Bicycle Classic, 2nd NRC race, and an incredible experience! Top amateur jersey in each stage, and finished 6th GC :) (short version) (long version) The racing was a whirlwind of learning experiences. I made some mistakes, by doubting my instincts and capabilities, that I will probably agonize over for awhile, while at the same time I feel proud that I put myself in some great positions. My biggest goal going into this race was to finish in the main group on the Sunset Loop. That morning when the announcer did call ups, I heard so many friends yelling my name and saw so many of you lining the streets of Redlands supporting me (thank you!) I kept this in my mind as my legs were cramping in the last 2k, managed to make it to the line with a select group of 8, and proved to myself that I deserve to be there. This week wouldnt have been possible without my SPY GIANT RIDE Elite Cycling Team keeping my spirits high, and without the enthusiasm of our Director Brock and Zach Sellers. Jim and Michael at SPY believing in us and using their resources to support womens cycling. Blaize and Brent at Ride Cyclery for dialing in bikes & wheels etc. And our amazing sponsors MRI (Medical Research Institute), Liv/giant USA, SRAM, Zipp wheels, Stageone Custom Sportswear, Razer, SKINS, Harmony Bar Studeo DNA, Jim Wolf for taking part in the building momentum of womens cycling!
