First beach tournament NZ age groups in the morning 8am. No matter what the results will be they are all representing Southland for the very first time at this tournament; so history making teams. Hi All, Read rules and email from vnz for nz age groups Thanks for you entry into the National Age Group Champs. We have good entries in the U19, 17 and 15 grades. All team in all grades will play both Tuesday and Wednesday. U15s will finish around 3pm on Tuesday, all other grades be prepared to play through to 6pm Tuesday. The technical meeting will be at the Mount Maunganui Main Beach at 8am, and will be in the big VNZ tent that will be set up closer to the surfclub/Mount than usual. All teams must have a representative at this meeting, all of the tournament information will be distributed then. A couple of important points that you should know: 1. We are playing the new net touch rule, which is: Contact with the net by a player between the antennae, during the action of playing the ball, is a fault.” Basically players can’t touch the net. 2. Coaching is not allowed during the match, this includes time out and set intervals. Coaches must only help teams before and after a match. (We know that a new rule has been trial internationally, but it hasnt been accepted and is far to hard to effectively manage at this tournament). You need to teach your athletes to be self reliant to work through problems. 3. Here is a video that will help you to learn what to do when you are on duty.
