First coyote incident on the farm. We went out hiking early this morn. Coming back up the hill and Curtis is a good ways ahead, kids and I are looking at turkey scratch spots. Next thing I know he empties his gun and yells down for us to stay put. Then he takes off running down into the field. Kids and I are slightly freaked. Hes gone forever, finally comes back, apparently a coyote a lil bigger than our dogs was running across the field to where me and the kids were. I have a new love for our dogs and even the neighbor puppy. Our dogs sat at mine and the kids feet watching around us while the neighbor dogs tracked it and bayed. Sadly he didnt get it. :(
