First day of VBS under my belt...had fun and my class is small... only four...two 4th grade and two fifth grade girls...they seemed to have a good time also...sadly tomorrow I wont be there as I have to help a family say goodbye to their matriarch...but looking forward to Wednesday...initially I was told this class was the largest and they scared me when they ordered 30 books for the class...there may be a few more join us along the way...The whole thing is a joint operation between the three churches in Donnellson...last year they had 50 kids...so far this year 23...My class was largest last year but a bunch of the kids aged out...The material is good and they went all out on the decos and the program...best part is there is an energetic young lady in charge and she REALLY organized everything...All I had to do was shepherd the class through the opening,...then to the craft person...then to Mission/science (we did Mentos and Diet Pepsi)...then lunch and then Story story time and then my turn.to help take the story home...Today we learned about Esther...and finally the closing...Singing and a puppet and some lively Simon Says... a good story and good food (I had a hot dog, Jello squares, Cheetos and homemade cookies)...all in all a VERY good day...:) :)
