First day tube update - if you are on the fence about doing this, - TopicsExpress

First day tube update - if you are on the fence about doing this, I would RUN to the vet and get it done. I simply cannot believe how easy it is. From start of prep time to completion of feeding in his stomach was less than 10 minutes. We have given sub q fluids nightly for the past 2.5 years, so our pup was used to presenting a side to us every night for which one he wanted poked. So the tube was natural for him - he just laid on his side and was so patient like he was for his fluids. Of course, I think he is adjusting to having a lump on the outside from the fluids to a lump on the inside with food. I suspect his stomach hasnt been that full in 8 years of his life. And, we are glad to restart his kidneys naturally as we will no longer need to do sub qs. I still havent quite figured out how to get his meds in the tube line easily - but so far we are doing a little happy dance tonight. Bless all of you - you are angels to each other and your pups. 🐶❤️
