First division side LISCR FC on Tuesday of last week held a one day workshop on the deadly Ebola virus for its players and players of fielder club Gardnerville FC. The one day workshop which was held in Sinkor brought together officials and players of the two teams and was well intended. The Media Officer of the club Numennie Williams who spoke on behalf of the club’s president Mustapha Raji informed players and officials that EBOLA is real and dangerous and should not be taken for granted. He said to fulfill their dream as a footballers, they should be careful with their health especially with Ebola in the country. Other facilitators spoke on preventive measures of the virus. At the end of the workshop, over 50 players and officials of the two clubs received buckets and clotherox each to be use at their various homes. Speaking on behalf of the players, the Deputy Captain of LISCR FC Mohammed Varney thanked the LISCR Administration for the workshop and said the workshop was very important and timely as they tried to battle this deadly virus. He promised that they will take all the preventive measures against Ebola. In a related development, LFA Division One club, FC Fassell, have launched a huge campaign, named and style, “Ebola Is Here & It Kills”, for the eradication of the deadly virus. The campaign started over the past week with the carrying out of public awareness, distributions of sanitary materials and other assistance at Ebola effected communities and other areas around Montserrado and Liberia at large. The Soccer Missionaries have embarked on the posting of banners at strategic areas around Montserrado as well as other counties such as Grand Cape Mount, Margibi, Lofa, Bong, etc. in her quest to help educate and caution people about the danger of the epidemic of this virus. In addition, flyers and stickers have also been distributed, which can be seen on vehicles plying the streets, at business centers, amongst others. Buckets with faucets, chlorine and sacks of drinking water are also been provided by the FC Fassell “Fight Against Ebola’ initiative to help in the preventive measure implementations at family and community levels. Additionally, the Club, thru its Public Affairs office, has mandated all its members, especially the playing body, to desist from engaging in football activities or other forms of contact sports. Fassell newly appointed Vice President/Public Affairs, Mr. Pawala Janyan said, “Anyone finds disobeying this mandate will be penalized.
