First, many thanks for letting your pastor and his wife have a few days of refreshment, relaxation, and revitalization in the beautiful village of Blowing Rock, NC. But we must say we sure missed being with you all last Sunday! Also, many thanks to Bobby Grooms and George Willis for filling in for me!! I know that we have many avid gardeners in our congregation. I do not possess horticultural skills- I once watered a plant for two weeks until finally my boss told me it was silk. SO..... with that in mind, I want to share together this Sunday about the vine and the branches, from the Gospel of John, chapter 15. The Bible is full of references to fruit. If you take an honest look at your life, can you say your life is fruitful. Are you bearing fruit in the way you live... in the way you love others... in the way you serve Him? So often we know what we NEED to do, but we dont know HOW to do it. I believe that the strategy for living a fruitful life is given to us in this text, as Jesus declares, I am the TRUE vine... Join us for this exciting time of worship at 11 AM, Sunday School at 9:45 AM. Come expecting great things from God! We have a busy day ahead of us! A reminder to the deacons that we will meet in the conference room at 9 AM. VBS workers/voluteers!!!! There is a BRIEF meeting right after church to discuss our VBS plans in the 39 Room. PLEASE attend if you plan to help. Church Council meeting at 5 PM in the Conference Room. Covered Dish Fellowship at 6 PM.
