First my pass, then my knee, and now a DUID becAuse I failed to use my left turn signal? Currently sitting in the vail police station after being arrested for failing to use my turn signal while pulling into the drop off Area at the lionshead structure. He said he could smell a strong odor of marijuana on me. I told him that I was a medical marijuana patient and that I smoked 90 minutes prior to picking my friend up from work. I explained to him why I had my medical card and why he could smell marijuana on me. I told him its a lot easier to continue day to day activities on marijuana(with my bummed knee) then it is to function on the OxyContin(government made heroin) I was prescribed for. He asked me if i would do a voluntary road side test.The officer could tell I was suffering from a leg injury. I told him I did not feel comfortable completing a roadside test due to not being able to hyper extend my right leg. He said he understood where I was coming from. I then asked him if I consented to the roadside test if it would work out in my favor. He said regardless to refusing it or consenting it that ultimately it was his choice. I could of passed the test and he could still say no or if I said no to the test his decision could still be a no. I ended up refusing the test due to the pain in my knee. He then proceeded to get hand cuff me a place me under arrest. He did not read me my Rights. I did not refuse the blood test because I had not been drinking. Since I consented to smoking a small glass pipe I figured that a blood test would prove that. I took the blood test because if I didnt i would of lost my license amongst other expensive penalties. Had a $1000 bond posted.Since I cooperated so nicely when they awoke me from my cell the new officer explained to me that the arresting officer said that if I blew under a 0.05 that I would not have to post bond. Since I wasnt drinking the night before I knew it would be 0s across the board...trying my best to stay positive in a world that seems negative right now. Already looking forward to 2015.......i would like to thank you all that helped me post bond with such short notice. Much love goes out to my friends...yall know who you are. Id post your names but Im not too sure if seeing a friends arrest would be proper on your timeline (:
