First of all, I just want to thank everyone who took the time to complete the survey regarding Hustle comps at Spotlight. It’s a much more effective tool to understand the wants and needs of the dancers than debates on a message board. This was never about giving up on Hustle, it was about understanding what is best for those who chose to support my events. As events grow it is important as a promoter to stay connected with the dancers and understand what they want and what adjustments need to be made to provide the best experience possible. As a promoter I have offered Hustle comps for years and they had continuously been very small. It was time to evaluate their value to the event. Thank you again to all that shared their thoughts and opinions. I read everyone’s comments multiple times and I feel I have come up with a solution that will add value to the social dancer as well as satisfy the competitive needs of the Hustle dancer. Looking through the history of hustle comps at my events, Hustle Strictly suffered the worst so I have chosen to remove Hustle Strictly this year and have kept the J&Js and Pro-Ams. There were positive changes that added social dancing as well, that did not affect all the hustle comps.
