First of all THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for all the positive thoughts & prayers for my brother and facing this trial. Unfortunately the DA came up with a witness that he apparently pulled out of his hat that stated my brother admitted to driving my fathers truck. ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE!!! My brother was found guilty of homicide by vehicle today. The jury didnt even deliberate an hour. They clearly didnt go through all of the 30 steps that they were ordered to do nor did they use common since. We are all in such disbelief. We are shocked, hurt, angry not to mention MAD!! JUSTICE WAS ABSOLUTELY NOT SERVED. I have lost respect for the judicial system. I sat and watched paramedics, volunteer fire fighters, law officers both the Wapello Co. Sheriffs deputies AND Iowa State Patrol among other expert witnesses LIE!!! They tested 2 spots of blood and THAT along with todays witness who stated my brother admitted to driving (where the hell was he a year, month or week ago) I strongly believe the DA KNEW he was screwed on Friday and did everything in his powers to convict my brother!! 100S OF INNOCENT PEOPLE ARE IN PRISON FOR SOMETHING THEY DIDNT DO... Now my brother will join them. We the Gridley family STILL believe my dad was driving. Thanks again for your prayers but I believe this horrible nightmare will continue to haunt us for the rest of our lives. Please pray for my family!! Thank you!!
