First of all, in Japan, as soon as the relationship is P+, you can - TopicsExpress

First of all, in Japan, as soon as the relationship is P+, you can be assured the assumed `lower` of the two will attempt to please the assumed `higher` person because this has been the basis of their training all throughout their schooling. Japanese schooling is designed to produce people who do not question authority. I should know, I received and worked in such conditions while living in Japan. In Australia when I was young (born 1979), kids got a smack and it was over, move on, get over it. In Japan, teachers emotionally abuse their kids. They cannot smack them, but they will emotionally ridicule and torment them until the child breaks down and cries. Now, the child does not want to talk or bring it back to D- because they are afraid of the consequences (emotional destruction) if they do not please the teacher again. This is so ingrained by the age of 7 that silence is the only answer to ensure minimal punishiment. Speaking up from someone `under` is not considered tolerable here, if it is done, it must be made to be the bosses idea, or somehow connected to the boss, as Japan still considers its leaders omnipotent. Remember up until about 1950 the Japanese thought their emperor was god in human form? They were to serve him. The Yasukuni shrine is in memory of those who served the `God on earth`. This just changed from Emperor to employer. During this change process from Emperor to Employer, the idea of reverence did not change, therefore, the same processes they show their emperor back in 19th century they do now to their boss. These did not chance as they are familiar, known, and without them there could be chaos or a total social breakdown. In fact, this is anywhere we go. Australia and New Zealand are basically the same countries, but we still separate ourselves, we even consider it culture. Now if we were to lose this, who would we be? It comes down to humans being the easiest living thing on this planet to read: We fear change, we like it if it is working out not too badly for us, so leave it alone. By the way women I feel need to develop the D- immediately as they do not receive a very intiimate relationship at home in many cases, Japanese men are not taught how to be intimate with their wives (I mean talk, be open). Younger men these days are showing differences, but once they become salary men, the company owns them, not their wives.
