First of all thank you FB friends so much to all the kind words, thoughts and comments about Foster. He is a very important dog :) This morning I was extremely worried about him as he has not eaten for 3 days and clearly is exhausted. I rushed him back to the Vet this morning for more test/x-rays and to rule out some things such as cancer that may have been missed before in the x-rays and ultrasound earlier this week. Earlier the Vet thought Bladder Stones were causing all the trouble but in addition to the Bladder Stones other complications are present indicating other things going on with his health at this time. He is on medication to break down the Bladder Stones otherwise he will have surgery. He was so weak and tired he could not even get into my bed so we both slept on the floor :) - see pic 1 and 2. I am avoiding picking him up because he is in pain and uncomfortable. The Vet report this afternoon has some great things to say and that is no sign of any cancer which is awesome news of course! Unfortunately Foster is very dehydrated and getting fluids at this very moment but he may have some energy back soon as he gets more hydrated. The Vet is also now checking him for Addisons Disease which is when the dogs Endocrine System is not producing enough hormones for the dogs body to function properly. If Foster has Addisons Disease it is treated with medication. Here is some additional info on Addisons Disease in Dogs. emmettslegacy.webs/ petmd/dog/conditions/endocrine/c_dg_hypoadrenocorticism Some people have asked me about Fosters diet. He has been eating a special diet of C/D Prescription food since 2012 and only gets scraps that accidentally fall of the dinner table. I believe his all time favorite food is bacon! I know all of this may seem extreme to some people but Foster is part of our family and deeply loved. He is 9 years old and we got him at the Humane Society in Dubuque,Iowa when he was a year old. He is an Australian Cattle Dog mix and the best behaved dog you will ever meet. He loves the dog park more than anything else. I realize dogs dont live forever but we need Foster to be with us a lot longer. My son Max is the dog walker and my daughter Maggie is often dressing him up in clothes and he is always good with it :) He is always happy to see me no matter what and I always get ready to be tackled by him when I open the door. I will be absolutely broken hearten to lose him - he is my best friend. Thanks again for the kind words I actually feel more optimistic about things tonight. JY
