First off, I am not going to defend the officers actions. They were unprofessional. Secondly, whats this big issue with people refusing to show ID? Texas doesnt allow open carry of pistols, so these cats are open-carrying rifles and shotguns. Its a right, this is true, but whats the purpose of carrying a long arm to go get coffee or groceries when the police dont even open carry their long arms. Its not practical, and from a safety stand point, unless you carried a long arm professionally then you dont really grasp all the hazards and inconveniences that come with it. If Open Carry Texas were more respectful of their surroundings and were compliant with lawful orders then officers wouldnt be agitated to the point of harassment. From what I have seen, they are a bunch of G.I. Joe/Rambo wanna bees that are inconsiderate and rude during public interactions. Ive seen pictures and videos of their meets and such, and those clowns have more flags than a Ringling Brothers Circus, tacticool rigs, and ludicrous amounts of add-one. They strike me as gear-queers who want to drag their DPMS piece of shit to Starbucks to piss off the locals. OCT gives the open-carry guys a bad name, period.
