First off I like to say this is my Facebook page and if you dont like what I have to say then politely delete yourself off of it because I dont give a damn who it offends or who doesnt like what I have to say. I have had time to sit back and read articles and comments about Michael Brown it is truly sad when anyone is cut down before they can accomplish something in their life whether they are black or white. I speak from the heart and as black man who was raised with values and morals instilled into me by my mother. It seems to me that as of late our youth especially our young black men have become targets in this country. It almost seems as if we may end up on the endangered species list because a majority of us are either incarcerated or in the ground six feet deep the potential to do something great has been silenced. I used to think that beneath it all as an American an African American whose roots are traced back to Africa I could help to make my people this country better. Most days when I have a glimmer of hope I believe that I still can, then I am brought back to a harsh reality that is painful that it may not be possible because we murder, insult, pull down, hate, rob, forsake, and disrespect each other. As a black man there are plenty of days when I walk out of my home I feel that my life is in danger not only from the ones who are supposed to serve and protect us but also someone who has the same skin as me and it is a sad feeling to have, but it is true, but when justice cannot be served for the killing of an innocent it a tragedy worst than any Shakespearean play where a Cassius or Cicero plants the seeds of distrust in a noble Othello. I once said I lost the will and desire to lead the people and yes sad to say I still feel that way because of what I experience from my own people daily, but as leader I do have an obligation to tell the truth. We will always be feared because we are a powerful people, we were kings and kings, warriors and scholars we taught from an early age to hold our heads up high never to flee from adversity to fight back, because we are a mighty people. I could go into race issues and say that it is the white mans fault and not every white person is evil, there are plenty whom I hold in high regard who actually see the same injustices that we face in OUR COMMUNITY but at the same time we are our own worse enemy, we refuse to unite with each other, we spend more time worrying about the new Js that are coming out or how we can be flashy in our new car and clothes at the end of the day it doesnt mean shit! Because you cant take it with you in the next life to quote Mark 8:36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Ill tell you to gain the world and lose your soul the profit is nothing, zero, zilch, goose egg! We have lost our way and our wings because the people no longer fly we are now chained to the ground on the materialistic instead of being more focused on spiritualistic, we have become lost and I dont see any signs of us returning back to prominence 6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. Hosea 4:6 This is not about just Michael Brown, Trayvon Martin, Emmet Till, The Scottsboro boys, Eric Garner, the list goes on and on. It is about every innocent life lost due to action of brutality based on peace officer who decides to be judge, jury and executioner. No matter what they say the intent to kill from the start was there and it is wrong but what pisses me off the most is these so called Black leaders who call themselves demanding justice for the people when its clear they have an ulterior motive. We all know once the hype from the media has died down and there is nothing else to be gained they leave and go to the next trying to hold on to fame and make money off of the deaths of the innocent people who have been slain. I ask this question of everyone when the hell are we going to wake up and stand united? Dont you know that they imprisoned so many of us emotionally, mentally, and psychologically that physical presence of chains is not even necessary? We have been divided and conquered because they have used these so called celebrities to infiltrate us and amaze us with illusions of grandeur that we no longer see the truth or what is real. I say to you WAKE UP! WAKE UP! WAKE UP! Because before you know it you will find yourself back in those physical chains like our ancestors were. What happens to a dream deferred? Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun?Or fester like a sore-- And then run? Does it stink like rotten meat? Or crust and sugar over-- like a syrupy sweet? Maybe it just sags like a heavy load. Or does it explode? Langston Hughes My last words on this subject those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it! George Santayana
