First off, very special thank you guys tagged on here because you helped me along or we shared a running moment. Joe Guilyard, Robert Orcutt, Hector Perez, Lucy Kiora, Brian Breit, Ralph Kuhn, Sista MotherMary, Laura Jumpp, Jacqueline Raquec, Juana Vasquez, Yovani Bonilla, Erick Vasquez, DL Westcott, Maria Benitez, Julieta Isabel, Jose Romero, Ana Vasquez, Rachel Huerta, Mayra Morales, Janette Benitez, Raul Barragan, Ingrid Romero, Denise Vasquez Alvarez and Alex, Mayra, Sandra, Juan, Jose Santiago Vasquez, David Benitez, Zdenek Chmel, Trd Ferguson and Jihad, Cesar Sierra Sierra, Kymberllie Vasquez Vasquez, Marialidia Vasquez Vasquez, Danny Perez, Daniel Perez Perez, Jose Fonseca Fonseca, Lorena Fonseca Fonseca, Eduardo Fonsecaca, Xio Benitez Benitez, Cindy P. Medina Medina, Tracy and anyone else I forgot, sorry. Goodbye 2014 possibly one of the best years I’ve had all around. I owe it to all the support of my friends and family especially you guys that were directly involved with it (running alongside, running into each other at races, virtual run, online challenge friends, support groups, and those of you who took time from your precious schedule to come help my crippled ass). Also, corny but very inspired by my favorite team the LA Galaxy, we are the first to five championships and we sent off the greatest American Soccer Player to retire as a sixth time Champ. To me it’s amazing to dream, but it’s better to chase them and stay on their tail so they know I will not tire. This started with the desire to run the Los Angeles Marathon (LAM) only one time. I admired Endurance Athletes as a child but didn’t start running long distances until Uncle Sam built me up to do so 14 years ago. 2004 was both a good and bad year for me, I was away and running when I had time kept me focused. I kept running mid distances and since then until the end of 2010 when I started training for this journey. 2011 I ran my first LAM and it changed me for the better. I was beat up immediately after it but it is true, a week later I missed it and signed up for more. My goal since then is primarily to run the LAM for 10 years consecutively and 2015 will bring number five. All comes with sacrifice but I refuse to lose sight of the light at the end of the tunnel. I have been plagued by injury but the way I see it, there are two types of injury. One can physically disable you the other can do it mentally. My injuries have been physical but my immunity to mental injuries have empowered me to keep pushing. At the beginning of 2014, I had my race schedule set, then there was a person that made two statements about me. The first was that it was pointless to be able to keep pushing beyond the body’s limitation. The second statement was that all my effort had no results. Since then I didn’t only double my goal, I tripled it and for motivating me to do so I say thank you. If that person ever feels like pushing beyond the comfort zone, I hope I am someone they can come to for help. These totals are only race miles, virtual race miles, and obstacle course miles it does not include training miles, or other challenge miles that I participated in which if you run, you know the race is the icing on the cake, it’s the long hours of training that make it happen. Unfortunately, I had to drop about 10 races because I got a little complacent and got injured in October. I am not going to do as many runs in the coming year but I say, bring on 2015. Thank you everyone for your support, lets chase 2015 until its begging for mercy.
