First outdoor run in 15 days...was feeling a bit below par, went to see acupuncturist Jun Shi. She felt all my pulses and said that, although my mental capacities were returning very fast after chemo, my body was taking longer to do so. She then laughed and said that, although being patient was not in my nature, this was how it was and wishing things were different would not make it happen. So, although this run (49:03) is about 2-1/2 minutes slower than the previous one, I am at least back on track physically. Then I remembered that my friend and colleague Palie Smart - who heads the PhD programme at Cranfield School of Management - suggested earlier this year that I ought to apply for the doctoral programme once I finished cancer treatment. At the time I thought this idea was crazy (Could I even live long enough to finish one? was my initial reaction). But perhaps now a new research/intellectual challenge - maybe something in the burgeoning new field of social intrapreneurism which Ive been helping to co-create with fellow authors Prof. Heiko Hosomi Spitzeck and Prof. David Grayson (entrepreneur) - might be just the thing to engage my brain and keep it going. Who knows? It might even improve my employment prospects (in the UK and the US).
