First race of the Vuelta Ciclista a El Salvador is in the books - todays race the Grand Prix Grand Saint Bernard (97km) started out crazy and ended fast. Annes bike was still MIA with airline baggage - but she was able to borrow a bike 10 minutes before the start of the race (Thank You Jono from Vanderkitten Racing - you are amazing). 10k into the race Kemi was caught in a pileup and eventually had to abandon after chasing over 15K with a bent wheel (Kemi is ok and will start the next race). The pace started picking up with attacks from Mara Abbott (UHC, finished 3rd today). Our guest rider from Ukraine, Tatiana, fought her way up to the 1st chase group - she finished 5th on the day. Breanne had a great race - on the final [big] climb she was able to work her way up to the front chase group climbing with the top 10 riders in the race - Breezy ended up 19th on the day. Anne, despite riding a bike with the wrong fit and no water bottle cages, was able to finish strong in 22nd. Lauren worked hard to protect her teammates through the early chaos and finished well mid pack - teamwork #wolfpack! The good news, Annes bike did arrive today along with Breannes bag. Now we are just missing Annes bag. The adventure continues tomorrow with the Grand Prix de Oriente (99km)!
