First, thank you all for the Birthday wishes yesterday! Second, if there is one lesson I have learned and learned early by being a Christmas Baby is that my birthday is not all about me. As a matter of fact, it has always been very little about me. Today is December 26th. Today is no longer my birthday, today is no longer Christmas but, today is my day (this year) to celebrate. Today I see my kids and grandkids to exchange gifts. Yesterday I spent a quiet day home alone with my man. In the evening we picked up one of his girls and saw a movie and then he and I grabbed a quick dinner of Chinese of course. No one else is open on Christmas. My son Sebastian Earl Rusher and Sasha Ammons did stop by and bring me a birthday gift and Sebastian figured out why my gaming head phones werent working correctly. Christopher gave me the work light I asked for. Mama and Bob sent aT-shirt and Daddy and Mom sent a card with lunch on them. Mostly though I sat around wishing I was with my whole family, eating a big Christmas dinner, laughing, and playing games. I havent had a Thanksgiving or Christmas or a Birthday like that in years. Its hard to let the rest of the world have the one day that is supposed to belong to you. To be mostly over looked in a country filled with Christians celebrating their saviour. After all, who are any of us to compete with such a joyous celebration? To those of my friends who would have and did invited me to share with you, Thank you but, please understand, it makes the day more difficult to endure. Though I do so appreciate your attempts it is why I politely decline. Yet I claim today to wish my cousin Happy Birthday and I hope that you do not mind sharing with me this year. To remind you all that its nice to be remembered but that, you wouldnt be here if not for your parents, your children are a gift because you are here, and your life is due to creation regardless if you celebrate a savior or the rebirth of a season. Its not all about you. Celebrate that they celebrate. HAPPY HOLIDAYS. Now wheres my birthday cake?
