First, thank you to all those who participated in WRSs online auction benefitting Jack; we raised $1800+ for his continued medical expenses. We are currently spending about $50/day just to board Jack as he is in a special hospital unit, not including anything else, so we truly appreciate everyones support and generosity! We want everyone to meet Elliot - he was an emergency rescue yesterday from a Mississippi shelter, where he was surrendered for killing a cat. While there are plenty of exceptions,many weims do have strong prey drives and arent suitable to be around cats. As you can see, Elliot is currently pretty anxious, but weve moved him to a vet clinic, where he will be assessed and any health care needs taken care of. All we know about him at this time is he is a young male. Hobbs (from yesterdays post) arrived safely at one of our vet clinics. Hes a very small (55lbs) male who seems to be quiet, very sweet, and bonded very quickly with the volunteers who brought him to us. Its a very busy time at WRS; please check our website, weimrescue, for a current listing of all our available dogs. We have some fantastic weims waiting for their forever homes!
