First, thank you to those who sent me supportive personal messages regarding the thread I deleted. You were disappointed I deleted it and you confirmed this is a discussion which needs to take place and inspired me to try again, this time with a different foundation. Suppose you are renting a location to shoot a short film, perhaps a bar or some other specialized location. You expend considerable effort planning, the set location is only available for a limited time and you wont be able to easily re-book it. You need to fill certain roles (cast and crew) with reliable people, some of whom you have never worked with before, but they have the skills you need to accomplish your film making goals. What are the best approaches and preparations you can make to ensure everyone who commits to appearing on the specified date and time, actually show up and no one arrives late, and everyone arrives ready to do what needs to be done?
