First thing first, Happy St. Patricks day to everyone. When I was a working man, and it got to payday, I couldnt wait until I got some time to go spend some of it. Now that I am retired, when I want to go spend some, I have to wait until I get some pay/pension. In NASCAR, Danika Patrick reminds me of myself in school. Happy to survive and just get by, but no initiative to lead the pack. Cleaned the gutters out on the house yesterday. I honestly believe there were more leaves in them than we had on our trees last summer. Sort of getting a head start on spring cleaning this year. Heck, I may even get done before winter this next year. Spanking a kid in todays world is almost taboo. When I was a kid, I could not even begin to think of the number of time my mother spanked me. Honestly, though, they never hurt or considered them exceptional. I suppose she just could not stand to hurt me. How many time did my dad spank me? Only once that I can remember, and I wasnt that young. I got that one because I mocked and talked back to my mom. When I got that one, I wasnt sure if the belt or I was going to wear out first. If I could change any one thing in my youth, I would never have needed to receive that belting by my dad. He did get his point across. Did my dad lose my respect for that? Absolutely not! I deserved every bit of that belting. If anything, I respected my dad more than ever.
