First walk-in of the day. A non-profit that does affordable - TopicsExpress

First walk-in of the day. A non-profit that does affordable housing bought a new building and now this guy who currently lives there, who IS living in affordable housing for him (works two jobs to pay for it!) doesnt qualify for the program and has to move. Which really sucks for him. Thats not the bad part. He is being threatened (erroneously) with eviction because he wont fill out their paperwork for a program he doesnt qualify for . . . sigh . . . the new owner has to honor the few months that he has left on his lease and cant force him to sign new rules or change his lease in any way. Basic. contract. law. And no HUD rules or regs are going to change that for this person in this situation. This person is not in a HUD program. WI laws still apply. If he fights it, and they go through with the eviction threat, his now pretty flawless rental record will be tarnished and then hell have a hard time finding housing. Anyone looking at the big picture any more?
