Firstly we would like to thank you for liking Conor’s page and supporting this appeal, the main aim of this page is to create awareness about Conor’s condition and to support him and his family through this difficult time. Conor is a 10 month old baby boy from Blanchardstown Dublin and up until 6 weeks ago was a perfectly healthy baby when he developed a chesty cough and vomiting and was admitted to temple street children’s hospital, after rigorous testing Conor was diagnosed with a very rare and fatal genetic brain disease called Gaucher’s disease type 2, it has been over 10 years since the last child was diagnosed with Conors condition in Ireland. This news has devastated everyone who knows Conor, his family, his friends, and especially to his parents of the heartbreaking news about their first child. Conor’s condition has deteriorated over the last few weeks and now needs 24hr care, the staff at temple street children’s hospital are doing a wonderful job of caring for Conor and have agreed to a staged discharge with the view of Conor being allowed home for good. We need your help to support Conor, the medical expenses for rest bite care, of home nursing and house hold bills from loss of earning are all mounting up! There is a fundraising event organised for Saturday the 8th of November in the main hall of St. Peregrines GAA club, Race Night, Raffle and Auction. Tickets for the event are €10 and this also covers your entry to the Draw so you can buy a non attendance ticket and still be included in the raffle. We encourage as many people as possible to attend this event and to support Conor and his parents. If you or your company would like to sponsor a race the cost is €250 and to buy a horse its €20 or if you can donate a gift for the raffle it would be much appreciated. Again we thank you for your support and there will be more updates, on the “Bring baby Conor Home” fundraising event soon and also on his condition. Please in the meantime we would like you to keep Conor in your thoughts and prayers.
