Fisher has had improvement over the past couple of days. I know it is very difficult to convey how serious his condition is and please know that I try to update as often as there is a substantial enough change. Sometimes its hard to really know or it is so fastly evolving that it would be difficult to accurately update with the fluid nature of the issues he faces. Fisher has continued to struggle over the last several days with episodes of bleeding. He began bleeding quite a bit this afternoon and of course that is very concerning. Fisher has successfully been weaned down on his ECMO settings and he is in a position that they could try to let him come off ECMO if it werent for the bleeding. Of course, we pray that this will be a successful attempt because it is vital that we get him off ECMO as soon as possible. Please pray that Fisher can be ECMO free in the morning! I think this would be an excellent way to celebrate his 2 week transplant anniversary! Essentially, the prayer is still the same for weaning from ECMO, protection from infection and mechanical problems related to the ECMO machine.
