Fisheries are out on the water in Warnbro Sound, with drum lines - TopicsExpress

Fisheries are out on the water in Warnbro Sound, with drum lines deployed and a shoot to kill order. The threat? A tagged, CITES-listed, internationally protected Great White Shark who has not hurt anyone and is most probably just following schooling fish, is swimming off the coast. THATS WHAT THEY DO. Did I mention its TAGGED? - that means we can trak it and see where it is, so the threat is ZERO. When did we become a society that eradicates other species for our convenience? Used to be a time... a shark was spotted in the area, you got people out of the water and closed the beaches; if it attacked someone, we might hunt it down and kill it out of revenge under the guise of eliminating a shark with a taste for huma flesh. Now were just going out and preemptively and unjustifiably shooting internationally protected apex predators so that people can maintain their beach lifestyle?
