Fishing Report 26/09/14 Land based - Been fairly quiet on the tailor front this week with only the odd chopper being caught around Swanbourne beach up to Trigg point. The go to rig has been the standard 4oz star sinker and a set of gangs with a mullie. We have heard no local reports of mulloway off the beach, but got news of a 10kg model near Fremantle. River - Few reports of bream being caught up around the midland area, biggest coming in around 42cm, but most reports around the 25cm mark Offshore – With the good weather this week we have had some good reports of dhufish, snapper and baldies. Snapper have been the highlight with good numbers/sizes in the sound with quite a few people bagging out in less than 1 hour on sunrise/sunset, so now might be the best time to get out and have a fish because the snapper ban starts on 30th September. Dean & Wes from our store got out from two rocks on Wednesday, they reported a big school of tuna (suspected stripeys) but unfortunately they couldn’t get a hook to stick. Nevertheless they managed to land a few sambos on the jigs. Dean got the fish of the trip landing the 82 cm dhufish we posted earlier in the week and is now swearing by the HOTS Y2 Jig in the 80g For anyone planning to wetting a line this weekend…be safe and keep an eye on the weather!
