Fishing Report: Today went Sabine Lake and fished the Old River Cove and Power Plant Inlet. Caught 15 Specks, 1 Red, and 1 Gaff topsail. The lake waters were smooth. The only problem was incoming tide most of the day. The winds were out of the North East gusting to a loud 5 MPH. WooHoo! Bait used Today: Vudu Shrimp (Color: Magic), Berkley Gulp Swimming Mullet (Color: Chart), Pulse Shrimp (Color: Uncooked). Worked the Vudu Shrimp on a 15-18 in leader underneath a popping cork popping it 2-3 times and letting it sit for up to 30 secs sometimes. Worked the Berkley Gulp on a white 1/4 oz jig head, slow rolled and jigged. Pulse shrimp was jigged with a swim bait hook. The baits were casted into shallow water and swam across the drop offs of the old river channel in the cove.
