Fishing Report for Nov. 8 Ah, sunshine! Launched at Bertrand at 7 AM and moved downstream to flats below the Hwy 62 bridge. We did not note much suface activity there, but soon found that the trout were there and that they were partial to blue on silver lures. Fished there for a bit, then moved back upstream between the bridge and Spider Creek. The trout were not as obvious as usual; but if one pays attention to the surrounding area, success can be found. We paid attention! The bite on lures slacked off about 9:30 AM. We switched to power bait and caught a couple on yellow and salmon peach. The bait bite was agonizingly slow. The water temperature from Bertrand to below the Hwy 62 bridge ran from 47.5 to 48.5 degrees F. We had a grand time and caught too many too small and a few too large to keep. The guests on the boat will have their planned surf and turf dinner tonight! It is a good weekend to go get YOUR surf portion of a meal! There is no generating planned for today, or tomorrow, for that matter. The weather is expected to give us a high temperature of 66 degrees F. under sunny skies with winds from the SW at 12 MPH, gusting to 22. Be safe out there and catch a few.
