Fishing Report on West Branch of the Broad and Cove creek: 05/05/14 All and I had an outstanding day fishing both Broad and Cove creek. Al likes the mountain streams and he also always wanted to try Cove. So that was the game plan. We started around 9:30 hoping it would be a bit warmer out. It was as we hit Broad Run under sunny skies and a chilly 47 degreees. The water was perfect and was not much warmer than the air temperature. It did not take us long to get into them as we fished just just around 2pm. Al had to landed 15 and lose/miss plenty more. A quick stop at Sheetz and we hit Cove around 2:30. The water was up and stained. There were various mayflies and caddis hatch and laying eggs but no takers. I switched Al over to nymphs. Ran into a local who frequents the stream daily. He wished us the best but dont expect much. He was fed up with all the poaching. Both Al and I were veay happy with the results we had during out three hour fish. Al landed four rainbows and one brown also missing four more. That was not bad at all. As we were leaving the local guys was in his truck watching three teenagers who has guilty all over ttheir faces. You could tell the one was baiting and that local guy was making sure they did not poach any out. It was a great day and glad to have sahred it with Al. I had some pictures to share, but my phone took a bath and waiting for a new one.
