Fit Tip: Supplements Supplements are a great source of your protein intake. However, dont solely rely on this as a meal. Due to the fact, its powder form and easily mixed with liquid makes it instantly digestible for your body to absorb those vitamins and minerals directing them to the muscles right after an intense session. By the end of your workout, your muscles are all torn up and damaged from the heavy lifting, drinking a supplement right after allows the protein to quickly travel to those damaged muscle cells make them bigger and stronger. BUT... As I said before, dont count one supplement drink as a meal. You should get your macronutrients from food. Food is the best source of all natural nutrients. Not only do they provide natural vitamins and minerals, they also provide the fuel you need for energy and recovery. Another note, you dont need high priced well known brands. I have been getting my whey supplementation from Meijer or Kroger for less than $20. They still give you relatively the same amount of protein you would pay for a supplement at $75. Flavors may be limited at Meijer or Kroger, but that does really factor in? Ok maybe a little lol. Preference comes into play :P Cookies N Cream all the way!!
