Fit tip: Tabata Interval What is this tabata interval you might be pondering about? The name alone should get you curious. It is another form of HIIT (High intensity interval training) It was developed by Dr. Izumi Tabata. His subjects, who were Olympic speedskaters, were put through vigorous exercise of 20secs and then 10secs of rest. This can done for your use as well. 20/10 work/rest. 4mins (8 cycles). You wouldnt think 4mins being short on duration would kick your butt. It gives you a nice whooping. This is a great style or cardiovascular improvements, endurance, lose weight/burn fat, and short on time. You can even modify it to where you can include strength improvements as well. Even increasing the amount of time and circuits is all up to you. If youre new, you might want to start off slow. Some exercises you can include are push ups, sit-ups, body squats, pull-ups, then incorporate DBs or KBs (kettlebells) add in rows, curls, shoulder raises, etc.. You can be creative on your routine. Its exhausting, but a lot of fun!
