Fitness Fact Friday-3/28/2014 Push Yourself People who go to the gym and do not push themselves and expecting fantastic results STOP KIDDING YOURSELF. People talk about doing low weights, high reps in order to tone your body and to keep from becoming too BIG (especially WOMEN who are afraid to turn into a PROFESSIONAL BODYBUILDER). Well, people usually take that advice a step further and feel like they shouldnt exceed over a certain weight when exercising saying, I only stick to the 7lbs because I dont want to get bulking and too big and Im just trying to tone up. First off, the only way that you will get bulky is if you ate several of thousands of calories daily, have the same hormone set up as males do, exercised day in and day out, and your calorie intake is in the several THOUSANDS (Yes, SEVERAL THOUSANDS!!!). Scientific studies have shown that you have a zero percent chance of accidentally getting buff. YES ZERO PERCENT CHANCE!!! Makes sense, right?! Heres an example: Lets say that you were enrolled in a math class and your teacher assigned you the same homework problem every single night for a year. What would you naturally do?! The first few days you would work with the problem to understand how to do it, but then after a while you eventually just write the answer down and turn in your work. Day after day, write the answer down and turn in your work. No learning curve, NONE AT ALL. Your body works the same way. Once you exercise with a certain weight (or rep ranges) and your body gets used to it then it has no reason to adapt and grow just like it has no reason to learn different math problems. When you go to the gym, try and push yourself because thats where all of the magic comes from. Getting too buff takes a lot more work than many people imagine so if you come from a sedentary background there is no need to worry, trust me. Ask any buff friend of yours how easy it was for them to get buff then put yourself in their shoes and imagine all of the blood, sweat, tears, hard work, muscle soreness, etc they went through to get there. So if youre not on that level of sacrifice, then your chances of accidentally getting are slim to none. Dont be afraid to push your self because pushing your self is what stands you out from the crowd. Enjoy!
