Fitzpatrick, Francis J. “Fitzy” (Ret. BPD) of Hanover, died January 16, 2015. Beloved husband of 63 years of Marie Y. (Thibault) Fitzpatrick. Loving father of Michael Fitzpatrick and his wife Ann Marie of Walpole, Maureen DiMarzio and her husband Daniel of Hanover, John Fitzpatrick and Marie Gagnon of Braintree, James Fitzpatrick and Debbie Bowman of Kingston, Mary Fitzpatrick and Kevin Corrigan of Holbrook. Dear brother of Virginia Kunkel of Wappinger’s Falls NY. Cherished grandfather of Denise DiMarzio, Brian DiMarzio, Kevin DiMarzio , Mike Fitzpatrick, Joe Fitzpatrick, and Brianne Fitzpatrick. Also survived by many loving great grand children. Francis proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a Radioman Second Class in the Pacific Theater. He had 33 years of meritorious service with the Boston Police department including assignments at District 13, the Harbor Patrol and culminating his career in the Fingerprint Identification Unit. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 10:00 AM Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Mary of the Sacred Heart Church, 392 Hanover Street, Hanover, MA at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Francis’ memory to the Alzheimer’s Associations, alz.org/donate.
