Fitzys Rant: Holy shit....Lets make one thing clear right away, this aint no rant!! Everything I write in this segment is about love, friendship and a humongous thank you to all the amazing people in my life!! First off, I had upwards of 600 people wish me Happy Birthday and I find that amazing. Maybe its just a product of our current Facebook Twitter Snap chat world of instant and easy communication we now live in but who cares, I extend my whole hearted thanks to everyone who took the time to wish me my happy 28th birthday....:) The obvious loves of my life... Amy, Jonas and my wonderful family far and wide need to know my endless debt to their support and love..and I hope I can live up to even a small amount of their amazing hearts. Now, sometimes if you have been around long enough (as I apparently have), crazy unexpected things happen once in a great while. This past Wednesday I had a once in a lifetime occurrence.... As I hosted the Wednesday Blues Jam at the Tavern in Plainville with fellow friends and musicians Douglas Banks, Matt McManaman and Johnny C as I do once a month, a total stranger or at least a fan whom I have never made a personal connection with in all my years mysteriously appeared and presented me with a 1973 Gibson Les Paul Signature Semi- Hollow Body Gold Top guitar, never said a single word to me and just set the guitar on a stand in front of me while I was playing and put his hands out in an offering gesture. I played the guitar for the rest of the set and put it aside for him to come gather. He never did but during the final set put the guitar on the stand in front of me again and put his arms out in an offering. When the night closed, he was gone and his guitar sat there on its stand. All of us were dumbfounded......Twas then a man appeared who had been hanging with the guitar man and proceeded to tell me that the guitar was a gift to me, no questions asked.... As I sit here and type this, the beautiful guitar sits on a stand to my right and I am completely stunned!!!! I honestly have no idea how to get hold of this person, where he is from or how to thank him. Maybe he doesnt want any of that. Either way, I am absolutely speechless by such generosity. This much I do know....If his intention was to give this guitar to someone who will love and appreciate and play it with every ounce of passion it deserves...That person is me!!!!
