Five $1000 transportation art commissions available to local artists In partnership with GoBoston 2030, the Design Studio for Social Intervention is offering five $1000 art commissions to Boston-based artists. The commissions include $500 for a transportation-inspired work of art (any medium...paint, poetry, performance art, song, sculpture, food, etc.) and $500 to spend two days out with your piece with the GoBoston 2030 public engagement truck. To apply, please visit ds4si.org. Applications due January 21st. (Apologies for the short turn-around!) Artwork must be completed and available by January 28th. Artwork previously completed and used in other contexts is acceptable. GoBoston 2030s Question Campaign Truck will run January 28th-February 7th, and chosen artists must be available at least two days during that time. “Go Boston 2030 is a City of Boston initiative to envision a bold transportation future for Boston for the next 5, 10 and 15 years. The plan will develop a far-reaching vision that proposes transformative policies and projects to improve transportation for the city’s residents, businesses and visitors. The two-year process will be driven by data and steered through an unprecedented and inclusive public engagement process.” And an international opportunity from our friends at Build Peace: Together Separate: Contesting Space Build Peace 2015 will inaugurate its art program by curating Together Separate, an artistic showcase of individual and collective work that engages with the global issue of contested boundaries, borders, and spaces, which is directly reflected in the host city of Nicosia.
