Five Malawian Journalists from the Nation - Golden Matonga, Daily Times – MacDonald Thom, Zodiak – Veronica Mwale, Capital Radio – Raphael Mvona and MBC – Suzgo Chitete travelled to Stuttgart - Germany from November 16-22 to gain an understanding of United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) headquarters as well as U.S. military undertakings in Africa. The journalists visited the Armed Forces Network radio and television, a US military media house based at Robinson Baracks as well as the U.S. Airfield which is a home to both US military Aircraft and commercial flights. The journalists were also given a tour of historic Stuttgart, a city that has long been significant to the U.S.-Germany relationship. Finally, the journalists had a rare opportunity of an interview with the Deputy Commander of AFRICOM, Lieutenant General Steven Hummer.
