Five Minutes with the Holy Spirit - March 20 March 20: Holy Spirit, Take my eyes. My eyes tempted by curiosity. My eyes that judge and condemn, that control, that envy. Unable to see the truth without fear. Take my eyes, and turn them into admiration, tenderness, apology, compassion. Place the eyes of Christ in them. Holy Spirit, Take my ears, that hear only what suits them, that are listening to every noise stun the world. My ears closed for my brother, unable to hear the Word that invites to change. Take my ears and turn them so that they are welcoming, and listen with love to brother full sensitivity, openness, attentive to the voice of the Good Shepherd, sensitive gentle whisper of Christ. Holy Spirit, take my mouth, often used to reproach, satirize, criticize, lie, to complain, to murmur. Spirit Take it, and turn it into a place of song, encouragement, forgiveness. Make it able to say the right word, the right advice, fruitful words of sincere love, the words that Christ would say. And open it in a hymn of praise to the risen Christ.
