Five Wondrous Facts about John:- 1) The Gospel of John stands apart from the Synoptic Gospels (Matthew, Mark, and Luke—gospels that present a similar view and stories). It was written later, between 90-100 AD, and has a very distinct style compared to the other Gospels. The author of John is a master storyteller who weaves imagery, metaphors, and theological language into a brilliant and beloved depiction of the life and character of Jesus Christ. 2) The mention of “life” appears in John’s Gospel more than any other book in the entire New Testament. John invites people to believe in Jesus and the eternal life given by God’s Son. [Tweet this] 3) John’s Gospel focuses on describing Jesus as the incarnate Son of God. However, instead of just telling stories about Jesus, much like the other Gospels, John’s Gospel dives into spiritual meanings behind the stories. Jesus didn’t just feed 5000; He is the Bread of Life. Jesus didn’t just heal a blind man; He is the Light of the World. The purpose of his Gospel is recorded in John 20:30-31: “Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.”
