Five days ago the poaching death toll of Rhinoceros stood at 30. Within the past five days we have lost a further 24 totaling 54 Rhinoceros poached dead for fake medicine. Thats a pretty drastic spike in under six days. Thats more than 1-2 poached a day. If poaching continues at this rate we will have no Rhino left within the wild in the next 2 years (If that)... International Animal Rescue Foundation World Action South Africa asks for donation funding from which we need much needed ranger equipment. 1. Night vision goggles 2. Tents and ponchos 3. Water proof maps and note books 4. Boots and webbing 5. Infra red torches 6. Ration packs 7. Kevlar vests and hard wearing helmets 8. Water purification tablets 9. Vitamin C and energy boost tablets 10. Zinc oxide tape (used for injured feet with blisters) 11. Camouflaged clothing (all weather) 12. Camouflage all weather sleeping bags 13. Hexi burners and blocks 14. Non-rattle tins and plastic 4 ltr back pack water packs 15. First aid kits 16. CPR disposal kits 17. Unmanned Ariel Vehicle (UAV) 18. Close ops ground UAV 19. Lightweights 20. Field knife, compass, and sharping flint Above are some of the most important pieces of equipment that many rangers need within South Africa and outside of Africa. There are many cattle ranchers inside of Africa that cannot even afford to provide a basic loaded rifle to protect against heavily armed poachers. In one instance a ranger was given a very old rusty hand gun that fired a single shot, he didnt even have any of the equipment above. This equipment is crucial in protecting both rangers and Rhinoceros. We do not believe that funding should go direct to ranger organisations for the simple reason - we are seeing lack of anything materializing such as equipment being purchased and poaching declining. We have now opted instead of purchasing and then sending all equipment from the UK to South Africa, Uganda, Kenya. and Rwanda. $107 has thus been raised. $1 $5 $10 It all makes a difference. We MUST protect our rangers that require this equipment urgently.
