Five people died while four were injured during a mishap in the north of Kashmir valley on Monday, an official said. He said a mini-passenger carrier which was on way from Kupwor district to regions capital, Srinagar, collided with a mini-truck resulting in on-the-spot death of five commuters. The mishap took place on the Srinagar- Baramulla highway near Haigam-Pattan this morning. Three commuters were seriously injured and were shifted to hospital. Among those killed are two women Naza Begum and Sara, the official said, adding: Mohammad Shafi Malik, Dilshad Ahmad Pir, also died in the incident-- all those killed in the mishap are from Kupwor. One of the dead is a 30-year-old man who is yet to be identified, he said. Those injured include: Arfat Hussan, Mohd Anwar ul Haq, Mohd Saleem Akther, both from Kolkatta, and Mohd Khalik Malik.
