Five years ago, on this day, the small island nation of Haiti saw one of the worst natural disasters the world has ever seen. The horrifying loss of life (230,000-250,000 people) and the monumental task of rebuilding the country are still very much being felt today. Canada has always been close partners with Haiti. Many Haitians call Canada a second home and many Canadians feel the same about Haiti.
