Fixtures update - August 2014 Course Furniture All the course furniture has been installed and a big thanks to Jock Colvin who installed all the signs for us. There has been an issue with the tee pegs which was highlighted by the green keeping staff and the suppliers have accepted that this has been a manufacturing fault and will be replacing all the tee pegs that have been sent to us. Fixtures Update We have moved some fixtures about to accommodate matches that have been reinstated. The 36 aside match against Newbattle has been resurrected and will now be played at 09:00hrs on Sunday 21st September 2014. This means that the Ladies October spoon has been moved to Saturday 20th September 2014 at 10:00hrs – 11:30hrs and we thank the ladies section for allowing this to happen. As we know the Ryder cup is being hosted at Gleneagles this year and after the success of the Masters Weekend, we have decided to have a Ryder Cup Foursomes Competition on Sunday 28th September 2014. This will consist of a shotgun start at 09:00hrs. A sheet will go up with 36 spaces, you will add your own name and that of your partner, and then a draw will take place to see what team (Red or Blue) you are in and what hole you will play off. The best net foursomes score in the match will win the points for their team. There will be an entry fee and prizes will be awarded to the best net scores on the day. This will mean that the medal play off finals will be moved to 13:00 hrs. Course Etiquette Can we take this opportunity to remind member in relation to course etiquette. Several complaints have been registered in relation to members who use the practice putting green at the back of 18 and the practice area at the right of 17 on competition days. Can members please remember that no one should be chipping on to the green from the back of 18 and if using the practice area please keep these shots to lower lofted irons so that shots are not straying onto the 18th or 17th fairways. If members do not adhere to this request then these areas will be removed during competition days. Also numerous complaints have been received regarding noise whilst on the course. The main concern is people standing outside the professional shop having conversations whilst competitors are attempting to tee off at the 3rd. This is also a problem at the 2nd and 4th tee which are close together and the 14th tee with people walking to the 10th tee. Can I ask that members are aware of other people on the course when playing in these areas.
