Flash Flood Warning continues. Kuhio Hwy at Hanalei Bridge remains closed ! n addition to the Kuhio Highway closure near Hanalei Bridge, police have posted signs alerting motorists that the highway at Manoa Stream near Haena Beach Park is impassable due to high water. Police and the Department of Public Works Roads Division are also responding to a downed tree on Kua Road near Lawai Valley Estates. The National Weather Service (NWS) has extended the Flash Flood Warning for Kauai until 9:45 p.m. Due to the highway closure in Hanalei, police, fire and ambulance services have been staged north of Hanalei River. The American Red Cross has opened an emergency shelter at Hanalei Elementary School. The county’s emergency operations center has been partially activated. State and county officials are continually monitoring the weather and are ready to respond to any emergencies. For weather updates, stayed tuned to local media.
