Flash News Kashmir: Hurriyat(M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Today Said That Ladakh Body Based Towards Kashmir Muslim Traders......... >> Expressing serious concern over the forcible eviction of Muslim shopkeepers in Leh region on the pretext of road widening, APHC chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Tuesday said the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council was playing a partisan role. According to APHC spokesman, a delegation of Muslim shopkeepers from Leh met Mirwaiz and apprised him about the discriminationand problems faced by them at the hands of administration. They said they had businesses in the area from decades, but the administration was safeguarding the interests of particular section of people and even protecting the dismantling of their shops by keeping them outside the ambit of the new master plan for Leh, he said. The delegation told Mirwaiz that the administration did not pay heed to their complaints. They further informed that Muslim shopkeepers in Leh were targeted following a conspiracy and the role of chairman LAHDC in the whole affair was partisan, he claimed. Mirwaiz sternly condemned the government inaction to implement the court orders which asked the government to halt the demolition drive. The Mirwaiz said that Kashmiri Muslims traders were part of the Leh economy and it was highly foolish that they can be stopped merely on the regional basis.
