Flash News Kashmir: University Professor Arrested By Police in A Domestic Violence Case...... In a domestic violence case,a Kashmir University Professor was arrested by police on Tuesday after his In-Laws registered a case against him complaining that the said Professor not only demand dowry from his wife but also beat him ruthlessly. Sources said that Assistant Professor of Botony Department in Kashmir University, Lateef Ahmed Peer beat his wife to pulp at Mirzabagh Complex of Varsity. Reports said that the said Assistant Professor beat her wife ruthlessly after which she informed her father. The father-in-law of the Professor lodged a formal complaint at Police Station Nigeen after which the police arrested the accused. The Father-in- Law of the accused has alleged that his son-in-law frequently used to demand dowry from his wife and even after meeting such demands he on routine basis beat her. “May be he (Lateef Ahmed Peer) was arrested in domestic violence case but I can’tcomment on the matter as I don’t know anything about it,” Chief Proctor Kashmir University, Mohammad Afzal Zargar told.
