Flashback Friday: KAIYAs First Camping Trip! She loves to take cat naps on the patio furniture outside with us. Even though she’s high energy, she can still chill out too-she’s the perfect little girl. Chris has cat proofed the back yard but we still keep her on harness to be safe. When the grass is a little longer, she loves to hide like a cheetah and then do the flying attack on Mikko when he least suspects it. Poor guy, he’s just not quick enough for her. They spend a good part of the day chasing each other and play fighting. My sisters laugh at how gentle Mikko is with her even though she’s constantly ambushing him and “sharing” his favourite sleeping spots. Kaiya is sooo talkative, it’s very cute. Whenever you call her, she comes and seems to say, yeah? If you ask her if she’s being a bad girl, she’ll say noooooo. I’ve got to tape this! Anyways, Kaiya had passed all of the safety training with flying colours so we packed up and headed out for our first camping trip. My other cats took a few trips to feel comfortable camping so I was expecting the same from Kaiya, but as you can see from the pics, Kaiya was right at home and enjoyed the adventure- she seems to be happy as long as she’s with everyone else. At night, she loved to sleep with the windows open, her little nose working overtime to take in all of the wilderness smells. In the early morning to ward off the typical crispy mountain air, she snuggled right under the covers in-between Chris and me which turned out to be a bonus because she’s like a little furnace! Kaiya was so exhausted when we got home, I caught her sleeping soundly in the laundry hamper as I was doing post camping laundering. We’ll see how she does when we go again in August.
