Flashback Friday...Remember Peter Spencers 52 Day Hunger Strike in 2009? Where he peacefully protested to bring the issue of land clearing legislation laws to the attention of the media and others. These laws have essentially prevented farmers from being able to effectively farm their land and were introduced so Australia could meet carbon targets in the Kyoto Protocol. Farmers have long demanded compensation for not being able to farm their land and remove trees from their land. Their cries have fallen on deaf ears. Spencer refuses to let this issue be swept under the rug, so to speak. Spencer continues to argue that the Federal Government should compensate ALL Australian farmers for the billions of dollars in lost revenue from this carbon deal.
